The HS2 mobile visitor centre is coming to Stables Cafe on Thursday 23 April from 10.30am to 1.00pm.
Turweston is a small, peaceful village which lies on a gentle slope leading down to the River Great Ouse. The river bounds the parish to the north, west and south, forming the county boundary with Northamptonshire to the north and west and Oxfordshire to the south. Much of the village lies within a conservation area, containing many attractive buildings, some of which are listed as being of special interest. The market town of Brackley is 1.6km west of the village, across the river Great Ouse. The parish has an area of 1,295 acres (524ha) and had a population of 198 at the 2021 census. St Mary’s Church sits in the centre of the village. Dating back to the 12th century, it was built by the Normans of stone rubble with stone dressings and is part of West Buckingham Benefice.
